I have the right to refuse sale to anyone for any reason at any given time. You must be willing to answer every question I ask and be knowledgeable about chinchillas, before I will adopt one or sell one to you. Don't take offense, We just care very deeply for our chinchillas.
Terms of Sale
The purpose of these terms is to protect the buyer and the seller in case of a misunderstanding or unforeseen problem. Each chinchilla buyer signs a copy of these terms of sale before taking possession of any animals. Please read the terms carefully. A copy of these policies must be printed signed and dated by buyer and returned with deposit or full payment before chinchilla will be placed on hold. By doing so you accept and agree to the terms in this policy. Seller may modify these terms with the buyer, under special circumstances. Upon doing so both parties will sign and date the new terms before proceeding with sale.
Deposits and Holding Chinchillas:
To hold a chinchilla for up to four weeks I need a 50% deposit with the remainder due upon the buyer taking the chinchilla home or the chinchilla being delivered. Chinchillas that have not been weaned will be held for two week after weaning with deposit. Full payment of purchase price will hold a chinchilla for one month (30 days) after it is weaned. A mutual time for pick up or delivery must be reached within two weeks of deposit, and delivery at additional cost to buyer must be arranged for a mtual time within a 30 day period from time of deposit. If not picked up or arrangments made for delivery within the holding period a fee may be charge of to hold for another 30 days. Deposit payments may be sent through the mail.
If the animal is not taken within 60 days of initial deposit or after the animal is weaned, the buyer will forfeit a minimum of 50% of the full purchase price to pay for feeding and boarding costs of that animal. Unless an alternate agreement has been reached. Any remainder will be refunded to the buyer and the chinchilla placed back up for sale.
Additional boarding fees are at the discretion of the seller and may be waived under special circumstances. Full refunds are given if the buyer decides not to buy an animal before it is weaned. For weaned animals a minimum of 30% of any deposit amount will be taken by the seller and the remainder will refunded if buyer backs out within 7 days after the deposit is given, unless a check was issued. Refunds will then not be given until the check has actually cleared. Refunds are given at the discretion of the seller, so more may be refunded under special circumstances.
Here are options for payment:
Money Order, Check or Cash: I may accepted personal checks in certain circumstances. Normally, I would prefer cash, but there are exceptions. If you really don't like handling cash you may pay for your deposit only using a money order or cashier's check. However, there will be a holding period for anything other then cash, for as long as it takes my bank to successfully clear the money. You will not recieve your chinchilla until this has happened. Just a little warning! A reciept will always be given.
Refund Policy
Adjustment Period: An adjustment period of one week is given for the buyer to decide if he or she does not wish to keep the animal, the animal may be returned for a refund of its purchase price minus deposit amount even if holding deposit was not paid and animal was bought right out. This period may be extended at the discretion of the seller. The animal must be in good health and in the same condition that it was in at the time of purchase.
Refunds after the Adjustment Period has Ended: Animals may be returned up to 1 week(2 weeks after purchase) after the adjustment period described above expires, however 30% of the total purchase price plus $45.00 (see below term) will be subtracted from the purchase price and the remainder will be given as a refund. Any extension of this two week time period is at the discretion of the seller. Any returned animal must be in good health and in the same condition it was in at the time of purchase. If any animal is is returned more than three weeks(21 days) after purchase, it is at the discretion of the seller to decide how much of the purchase price to refund the buyer.
Returning Chinchillas: Any animals returned after the one week adjustment period has ended will be taken to a veterinarian for a complete check-up. This will be done at the buyer's expense in the amount of $45.00 (Taken from any amount to be refunded). This fee may be waived at the discretion of the seller under unique circumstances.
Seller's Liability: If it is found within one month (30 days) after purchase that the buyer has purchased a chinchilla that is ill because of the negligence of the seller, such as illness or defect that is not disclosed at the time of purchase, the buyer may return the animal to the seller for a complete refund of the total purchase price. When the animal is returned to the seller a health certificate, which is written by a qualified veterinarian, documenting the illness(es) or defect(s) must be presented to the seller. These documents will be verified. No refunds will be given for medical treatments. The buyer must contact the seller before anything is done medically to the animal, if the buyer intends to return the animal. Trade of chinchillas or a partial refund may be available at sellers discretion.
